Followed these steps but then the emulator does now show on the screen. All the others are still there and work fine, but not the one I added using these steps. Anything I'm doing wrong?
I figure i try installing both ways and see whats up, SCUMMVM took seconds installing from Binary, I'm now installing from source and its busy installing for about 30 minutes now….
I think i'll stick to binary :-p
PRIME, I never though I myself would be able to build and run an actual Raspberry Pi. You have made this possible for me, and I greatly appreciate it. You do such an amazing job with all of your videos and calmly walking us all through the processes of anything and everything on the PI. You're the man. Keep up the good work. I've now built 2 PIs, one using RECALBOX, and one using Retro PI.
learned so much from you , top man and subbed as welll
4:05 Mame can take a day!
Why would certain video game emulators suddenly and randomly disappear from the Retropie? That sounds like a HUGE design flaw and inconvenience that could ruin your stable gaming experience. How do you make sure that ALL the emulators STAY installed on the retropie?
lr-beetle-saturn is not on the list. How do i download a Retroarch emulator that is not listed ?

Hey ETA, any idea what emulator I need to get wrestlefest to work? I have like 6 or 7 different Roms but not sure what emulator I will need. Thanks
For those having a hard time getting newly installed emulators to show up on your menu.
Two things to look at:
1) Have you enabled ParseGamelistOnly in Main Menu -> Other Settings? If so, you are only scanning for scraped gamelists, not loose ROMs (which is probably what you moved into the rom folder for your newly installed emulator). Disable ParseGamelistOnly and restart Emulationstation.
2) This one trips up lots of people, especially people who download premade images. Any es_systems.cfg in /home/pi/.emulationstation will override the retropie-setup generated /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg. Take a look at /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg, I bet your newly installed emulator is listed there. Now look at /home/pi/.emulationstation/es_systems.cfg. If this file even exists, you have found your problem, because your newly installed emulator is not listed there. Either copy over the new emulator entry from /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg into /home/pi/.emulationstation/es_systems.cfg, or rename /home/pi/.emulationstation/es_systems.cfg to something like /home/pi/.emulationstation/es_systems.BAK. And restart Emulationstation.

is this still work with decent retropie version ?
